It's the final week before the Halloween midterm so we've been doing very spooky things in art and in most of our subjects.
This week we will continue with our Halloween art and our Thriller dance. We hope to show some classes our final dance at the end of the week with some fancy dress costumes involved too.
A note has gone home about visitors from ACCORD coming to talk to the class about growing up and the changes involved. A form was included for guardians to sign to say they give/don't give their consent. This will happen the Monday after the Halloween break, November 3rd.
The Gardaί will be visiting 5th and 6th class on Tuesday to give advice on staying safe over the Halloween break, especially in regards to bonfires and fireworks.
There is a non-uniform day on Friday where the children are asked to bring 2euro. Fancy dress would be preferred in our 5th Class : )
English spellings this week will be based on a spelling pattern rather than from the Spelling book.
Gaeilge: Nathanna Nua:
Oίche Shamhna shona duit= Happy halloween to you
Tá mé gléasta suas mar= I am dressed up as
Púca= ghost
Cailleach= witch
puimcín=pumpkin
Tine chnámh= bonfire
tinte ealaíne=fireworks
Maths:
We will be covering division this week. This can be a difficult topic for some children to understand so don't worry if they're not understanding it immediately, there will be further work done in this throughout the year. Multiplication is directly linked with division so I will be reminding the children look over and learn times tables.
