Advent has begun.
This week we will be beginning our December plans. We will be looking at a new chapter in Bun Go Barr: Ulla Deasa
It is important that Irish notes are brought home and the verbs learned.
Nathanna Nua:
Cé a bhί ina sheasamh ag an doras ach an feirmeoir! Who was standing at the door but the farmer!
Bhί mé I dtrioblόid mar… I was in trouble because..
Féach ar an tarbh sa phάirc.. Look at the bull in the field
Dhύn..Closed (e.g Dhun me an doras inne)
Dύnfaidh ...Will Close (e.g. dunfaidh me an doras amarach)
Chaith …spent/threw (e.g chaith me an liathroid)
Caithfidh…will spend/throw (e.g caithfidh me an liathroid amarach)
Cheannaigh..bought
Ceannόidh..will buy
Nach bhfuil se go halainn! Isn't it lovely!
We will be continuing to look at the relationship between fractions and decimals this week until Wednesday, then we have to move onto Number theory: looking at prime numbers, composite numbers, square numbers and rectangular numbers. We also will look at multiples and factors of numbers.
In history we will continue on with the Industrial revolution, exploring new inventions especially within transport. Geography we are looking at our coast and it's features. Science we are moving onto magnets and forces (looking into transport also)
In art we will be continuing Impressionist paintings and moving onto creating a time zone disk to show the different times in the world.** If the children could bring in a little ornament, Christmas related, that would be ideal as we will be making snow globes soon in art class **
In music we are continuing with the peace proms and beginning new chapter in the Right Note.
A note for the parents of those going to the Peace Proms, there is a practice on December 16th (in the morning) We will have to leave the school before school starts (most likely at 9am) and we will return to school ideally before big lunch. If your child is not attending the peace proms they will be put in a class for that morning.
The actual concert is not on until the 31st January, which is a Saturday. There will be organised transport to and from the show, so no parents need worry if they are not around on the day.
