I will be meeting some parents this week and most the following week, please arrive promptly at your time and knock on the door at the exact time so we avoid delays. If anyone feels they've more to talk about after the meeting or will need more time we can schedule another meeting, at another time. Everyone has been given 10 minutes so it will be just a quick summary of how the children are doing in school so far this year and what we can possibly do to aid their progress.
This week we should be ready to paint most of our papier mache creations and hopefully have them home for the following week.
We will also begin different art activities this Friday.
We are continuing with our Proms songs, including the Monster Medley and we will begin learning 'Happy' this week.
We are reading a story in English called 'Katie's war' this week which is based in World War 1 and Irish Civil War time, so we will be linking this with our History lessons also.
We are continuing with our Gaeilge chapter 'An Gadai' and doing the revision chapter after it also.
In maths we are continuing with Lines and Angles, we will be learning to
-draw angles of specific degrees - Measure angles of a triangle
- Calculate how many degrees are in total within a triangle
-Name all types of angles depending on their degrees
We will be moving onto fractions next.
In science we are exploring types of energy-renewable and non-renewable.
Different types of energy within theses categories such as chemical energy.
In Geography we are looking into place names and their meanings.
