Throughout March we created art in relation to Mother's Day art, St. Patrick's day art and we painted/drew Daffodils from a photo and Sunflowers from the well known painting 'Sunflowers' by Leonardo Da Vinci.
Before the midterm the children created witches' shoes and papier mache bowls/cats. The papier mache has taken longer than expected so pictures will be up as soon as possible.
The witches' shoes turned out lovely. We started off with drawing portraits of our classmates and then creating our own portraits (nearly life size) While learning about the Renaissance and how it renewed people's interest in architecture. The children sketched buildings that were similar to those of the Hellenistic period and those recreated by Michelangelo during the Renaissance. Materials used: chalk and coloured paper. |
